Best Trends and Ideas for Your Wedding Day
I had many tips in mind during wedding season that I wanted to blog about for brides planning their weddings in 2010. Then the holiday happened, and you know how that goes. I remember many of them, and I think they make a great little list of advice for all you brides out there.
1. Consider the lighting! This is the most importrant thing a photographer can stress.
Now this is not just pertaining to the time of day that you choose to have portraits made, though that is probably one of the most important decisions you will make for your wedding photography; one also must consider the time of day the ceremony will be. There is nothing more beautiful than a church ceremony with light streaming through the windows, leading a path down the aisle. If you are having an outdoor wedding, you may want to have the ceremony about 2 hours before sunset so that the lighting will be soft, and your groom will not be sweating it out in his tux. This will leave plenty of time after the ceremony for photos.
2. The First Glance - Favorite new trend that will definitely be a tradition in the future.
I remember shooting my very first First Glance, and thinking this should be interesting. I wasn't sure if I would feel intrusive being there at the private moment, when the Groom first sees the Bride, and they embrace one another... just the 3 of us... But it quickly became one of my favorite parts of many wedding days. The best photographs happen in relaxed moments like these.
3. Details, Details, Details! It may not seem a top priority to have a professionally lit reception hall, perfect flowers, beautiful chair covers, But it is! These are things that can pack a punch while not stretching your budget. Your photos will thank you for it.
i.e. Cute boots, Bird's nest wrapped bouquet

4. Have a nice Place to Get Ready. This is another thing that gets over looked during the planning process of many weddings. Please remember, this is where you will spend much of the day getting ready, opening presents, laughing with your bridal party. Don't overlook this tip!!
5. My Personal Tip: The Dress. If you don't feel like a princess in the dress, trust me, keep looking. When you look in the mirror and say, I look better than I ever had, that is when you are getting warm. I did not spend much time looking for a dress, and now wish I had.
Those are my top tips this planning season. Thanks for checking out my blog. I will be posting more often in the coming months. Happy Planning!
